EcoSchools Canada Action Card

Did you know that you can earn points toward your EcoSchools Canada certification by taking your students outside to learn?

By participating in the Take Me Outside for Learning Challenge, your school can use outdoor learning experiences to support the Explore & Learn Outdoors Action Card. The action card provides a simple way to recognize outdoor learning, encourage students to connect with nature, and celebrate learning that happens beyond the classroom.

As part of HDSB's commitment to Every School an EcoSchool, we encourage schools to add the Explore & Learn Outdoors Action Card to their 2026–2027 EcoPlan. Participating in the Learning Challenge can help your school work toward its EcoSchools certification while contributing to HDSB's collective effort to make outdoor learning a regular part of the school experience.

Ready to take learning outside? Join the Take Me Outside for Learning Challenge and start logging your outdoor learning throughout the school year!

Download the Explore & Learn Action Card:

Why add it to your EcoPlan?

Earn points toward EcoSchools certification
Support environmental learning and student wellbeing
Access free outdoor learning resources and activities
Contribute to HDSB participation and impact data

Together, we can continue building a culture of outdoor learning and environmental action in every HDSB school.
