At the CPAWS Southern Alberta chapter, our mission is to safeguard, connect, and expand Alberta’s parks and wilderness through education, engagement, and collaboration with Albertans. CPAWS SA is a leader in environmental education and has won provincial and national awards for our unique education programs. For 25 years, we have successfully delivered multi-visit, curriculum-linked, in class and outdoor education programs to youth and community groups in Alberta, focusing on local stewardship. We have engaged with more than 165,000 participants in this region, inspiring and supporting Albertans to be environmental change makers for their local communities. We are committed to breaking down barriers to outdoor education so that everyone can feel welcome, safe, and included in the outdoors.
Key Resources
Since 1997, we have engaged over 150,000 Albertans with environmental programs that teach environmental stewardship through interactive programs—from in-class learning to hands-on outdoor activities, such as guided hikes and snowshoeing.
