Thank you to everyone who signed up! The Take Me Outside for Learning Challenge is a commitment to ongoing outdoor learning throughout the school year, which involves taking your class outside once a week. For teachers who’ve signed up for the Learning Challenge, we’ll provide you with monthly professional development opportunities, resources, outdoor learning activity ideas and more to support you in this journey.
This year, we’re adding an exciting community of practice component for our group of Learning Challenge educators so participants can interact, engage with and learn from other teachers across Canada who are also committed to outdoor learning. In 2021 we’ve welcomed 6700 educators to the Take Me Outside for Learning Challenge and are excited to encourage your commitment to outdoor learning across the country for the 2021/22 school year!
Prizes for teachers who participate in the Learning Challenge include a grand prize of a 4-day trip to Banff, a $1000 gift card to the Outdoor Learning Store sponsored by Pac FUNS, and thousands of dollars worth of prizes from Take Me Outside, OLS, and MEC.

WHAT EDUCATORS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE TAKE ME OUTSIDE FOR LEARNING CHALLENGE
“One of my students recently wrote a persuasive letter as part of an assignment, and for their topic they chose ‘why we should have more outdoor learning’.”
“I love it because it is a space where all can succeed, regardless of ability, language or experience.”
“students benefited so much! Here are the ways: self-regulation and understanding how nature can be calming, sense of wonder and connection to big ideas, movement and understanding the concept of space, loving nature in its patterns of weather and seasons, observation and awakening all the senses, sharing the experience with others!”
“I always notice full engagement when we take learning outdoors.”
