Karine is a K to 12 teacher, an outdoor educator, a Forest and Nature School practitioner and an author.  With 28 years of teaching experience, Karine has worked as a classroom teacher, teacher librarian, curriculum consultant, and university instructor. She spent a decade on school leadership teams focused on outdoor learning, inquiry-based learning, technology and mathematics. Her passion for well-being, inclusion, and land-based education is reflected in her work and further deepened by her certification as a yoga and meditation teacher. Her work is grounded in a deep respect for Indigenous knowledge and a commitment to creating meaningful outdoor learning experiences for all learners. Outside of work, Karine loves swimming, hiking, doing yoga, writing, gardening and spending time in nature. These activities help her stay connected to the land, and to the rhythms of

I am very grateful to reside on the traditional and ancestral territory of the Coast Salish Peoples including the Songhees, Esquimalt and T'Sou-ke Nations. For generations, they have stewarded this land and its diverse ecosystems. I honour their knowledge and culture and I am committed to work towards Reconciliation.
