Workshop Information
Workshops are all in person, and are 75 minutes long.
Which conference focus area does your workshop MOST focus on?

The overarching focus for all workshops should be ‘Outdoor Learning’ but we are particularly interested in proposals that speak to one of these three focus areas.

We have found hands-on interactive workshops or breakout/discussion sessions work best for participants to connect with. Which of these two would your presentation fit best into?

This is a conference focused on outdoor learning. Is your educational workshop designed to be given outside, in any weather?

The majority of workshops accepted will be those given ONLY outside. It is possible for a very small number to be hybrid (indoors/outdoors). If needed, please add your interest AND reasoning in using an indoor presenting space in the ‘special equipment’ question below.

This may apply to either outdoors or proposed indoors sessions. You will be responsible for the transporting and setting up the equipment as needed (if outdoors, maximum 5 minute walk from Banff Centre permitted). Please also share if you would like to request a flat open space e.g for running games, a forested area or have accessibility needs for your workshop location.

Being specific, particularly for age/grade level helps us to ensure we provide workshops that are diverse and relevant for as many attendees as possible. For e.g if your program is for Early Childhood please do not click K- 7 additionally.

NOTE: The vast majority of attendees have some experience with outdoor learning. Workshops that offer new or advanced ways of engaging with outdoor learning are more likely to be prioritized.

If you are accepted to present, we require that you join us for one of two Zoom sessions to talk about practicalities of the conference location, best practice in workshop delivery, and the chance to ask any questions.
